Choose Practice vs Bots in the game menu to try Banana Society without gathering a group. Practice creates a private match, fills the other seats with bots, and starts immediately.
Use it as a rehearsal for the controls and objectives. Human conversation, bluffing, and shared jokes are the reason to invite your friends afterward.
Start with one collection trip
Find a tree and hold E or Space to interact. Notice which banana colors you are carrying, open the map with N if needed, and head toward a matching crate. Hold interact at that crate to deposit its color.
Try a second destination before worrying about optimal routes. This teaches the relationship between the color you carry and the crate that accepts it. It also gives you a concrete example to explain to a newcomer later.
Rehearse three useful skills
Moving while carrying: take a familiar path between a tree and a crate. Look at the map before taking a long detour. You will learn more from recognizing a landmark than from memorizing a string of turns.
Reading the ability bar: inspect which actions are available for your current role. Citizens and Eaters do not have the same tools. Use the controls table when a label is unfamiliar.
Making a council decision: practice selecting and confirming a vote before its timer expires. Use the result to check your understanding of the interface; do not assume bot behavior is a model of human persuasion.
If you are assigned Eater
Read the Eater controls before charging toward a crate. Try eating carried bananas and watch your belly. Practice the difference between a snatch and a trip: one takes a carrier's bananas, while the other scatters them.
Locate a vine and observe where it takes you. Vines follow an ordered sequence rather than letting you choose any destination. The map guide shows that sequence.
You will not necessarily receive the same role in every practice match. A practice session is not a role-selection screen.
What bots do not teach
Bots fill seats and make the simulation active. They do not recreate a friend's hesitation, a persuasive lie, a half-remembered sighting, or a group developing its own habits.
Treat a tactic that works against bots as an idea to test with people. In particular, a human can remember where you were and ask a follow-up question. That changes how believable a route or excuse may be.
Practice matches also have reduced progression rewards. Use them to learn, rather than assuming they are equivalent to a normal group session.
Bring what you learned to game night
Return to the menu and choose Create Game when your friends are ready. Share its invitation and let the group assemble in the lobby. You can add bots there too if a few seats are empty.
A good readiness check is simple: can you explain collection, the hidden Eater objective, and voting without looking up every control? If so, follow the hosting checklist and learn the rest together.
